Embassy of Washington - We brought 50 investment companies to Iraq(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) The US embassy in Baghdad announced on Wednesday that it has brought about 50 investment companies to Iraq.
“Together with the international coalition, we have equipped and trained more than 190,000 Iraqi forces,” said US Charge d’Affaires Joe Hood in a speech at the Fourth International Conference Against Struggle Media in Baghdad.
“People need jobs, and we encourage more jobs,” he said. “The embassy has brought more than 50 companies to know about work in Iraq,” he said, without disclosing whether the companies were American or from other countries.
“A secure and stable Iraq is in the interest of the United States,” he said.
On Tuesday, HOOD said in a press statement that US forces would leave Iraq if the Baghdad government asked for it, denying military movements in the latter country.
Iraq links America to the Security Agreement or the “Strategic Framework” agreement signed in 2008 by US President George W. Bush and paved the way for US troops to leave Iraq in late 2011 after eight years of occupation.
The agreement regulates relations between Iraq and the United States in various fields, especially military and economic.
