The head of a coalition of state law, Nuri al-Maliki, that the replacement of the candidate for the post of Minister of Interior, Faleh al-Fayadh, indicates the imposition of wills by a coalition going to parliament and the government and unconstitutional ways, which is a threat to the political process, as he put it.
Maliki said in a press statement that “his coalition will not allow the coalition of construction and not even Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, replacing the candidate for the Interior Ministry Faleh al-Fayadh and not even any other candidate for the ministries vacant.”
He said that “the change of Fayyad indicates the imposition of wills by a coalition going to Parliament and the government and unconstitutional ways, which is a threat to the political process.”
He called on Maliki, a bloc in the parliament to clarify their point of view, which prompts them to refuse to give Fayadh to the portfolio of the Interior and abstain from voting in parliament if they wanted to.
He pointed out that “if the Fayyad does not get the votes that qualify him to take over the Interior will be replaced, but if it gets the confidence of the majority of members of parliament, it means that the people is the one who chose for this position.”
He continued by saying that “according to the Constitution, the selection of candidates to take over the ministries or not are voting within the dome of parliament and not through chaos and threat and intimidation,” he said.
The House of Representatives failed last week to vote on the completion of the cabin of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, including the vote on the candidate for the post of Minister of Interior Faleh Fayadh
